January Meetup - Mystery Project

For my meetup group, we have a monthly meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. I got this idea from the the Miss Marple books. You see, Miss Marple had a Tuesday Night Club in which they discussed mysteries and the members of the group tried to figure out "whodunit". So my idea transformed into having a mystery project for our meetup members at our Tuesday meeting.

I list out the supplies needed for the project in the meetup event. Then I guide our members through the making of the project. Members send me ideas or event help with instructing other members. It's been a really fun way to socialize.

So here is our project for January. It is a photo wallet.

Photo Wallet - Opened up

I got the idea from one of our members who was showing it off at one of our crops. I got instructions from the following two websites.

January Workshop - Magnet Board

It was Amanda's turn to instruct the workshop this month for our meetup. She chose to create a magnet board and decorate it using the NEW Topstich paper pack. Amanda had two holes for attaching the ribbon, so this could be hung on the wall. Since I am going to be using a plate holder for mine, I decorated the back and didn't use the ribbon.

Magnet Board Back

If you decide to try a project like this, here are the two challenges we faced for metal sheet for the magnet board.
1. It was hard finding the sheets of metal in Lowe's or Home Depot. But they are there.
2. Cutting the sheet metal worked best with Tin Snips. But it was pretty easy to cut yourself doing this. And you had to be sure to file down the burs on the edges.

My Jingle Mini-Sorts Album

I've been meaning to share this for a while, but I've finally finished adding pictures and embellishments. This fall, I participated in a gift giving activity within my CTMH team. It was like a secret sister gift exchange where you sent your secret sister a gift for the month of October, November, and December. However, we called it "Holiday Homies". I received this album from my Holiday Home, and I LOOOOVE IT!

Another Beaded Gift

Here is a gift I gave to a friend who was visiting from out of town. I got the idea for the beaded charm from an ETSY. There were these charms that were attached to scissors. I thought they were so cute, so here is what Victoria came up with. I like it because it has the added versatility that you can add it to about anything.

The paper pack used to decorate the box above is CTMH Enchanted.

Photobucket Slide Show - Testing 1 2 3

I was asked how to share a photobucket slideshow without the big buttons at the bottom. So I am testing this out with a Slide Show of a Wedding Album for my friend Amanda.

I went to the slide show page in photobucket, and clicked the Share button. Then I selected the icon for blogspot. Then I entered in my email address, blogspot address, and password.

**IN order to show you the code, I've added double quotes around the first bracket ("<") of the html, so that it will display the code and not the finished html product. So just remember if you see "<" that it shoud look like < without the quotes. You you will need edit your post. when you are looking at the 'EDIT HTML' tab, go to the end of the code for the slide show. You will need to remove the last two links to which are for the buttons. The code you are link for looks something like this:
"<"a href="" target="_blank">
"<"img src="" style="float:left;border-width: 0;" />"<"/a>
"<"a href="" target="_blank">
"<"img src="" style="float:left;border-width: 0;" />"<"/a>

Or You could just remove the text after closing of the embed tag and before the last div tag. The embed tag is in blue, and the links to remove are in red.

"<"img style="visibility:hidden;width:0px;height:0px;" border=0 width=0 height=0 src="*ODM2MDY3NiZwdD*xMjYzMTQ4NDQ2NTg4JnA9Mzg2MzYx JmQ9Jm49YmxvZ2dlciZnPTEmbz*yNjJkMDYxMWQ*M2Q*MjdjODk5N2QzYzRhM WRkYjgxYyZvZj*w.gif" />"<"div style="width:480px; text-align: center;">

"<"embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="" height="360" width="480">"<"/embed>
"<"a href="" target="_blank">"<"img src="" style="float:left;border-width: 0;" />"<"/a>
"<"a href="" target="_blank">"<"img src="" style="float:left;border-width: 0;" />"<"/a>"<"/div>

Here is the slideshow without buttons.

Cute Card for Victoria

I made the following card for a virtual swap using a new stamp set (C1398) Love You Forever and the new "You Rock" Paper Pack (X7122B). I chose this stamp set because I love owls. I thought the saying was so cute that my intention was for this to be a card to my daughter Victoria. She was very happy surprised by the gesture.
