Victoria's Sweet Sixteen

Here are some pictures of the decorations we did for Victoria's Sweet Sixteen Birthday Party.

We bought decorations from Walmart and Party City.

For the balloons that are hangings, we used an air pump that we have for our travel air mattress. It was tricky figuring out how to get it to work, but we got it it to. However, it ended up being a two person job. I turned the air pump off and on while Dan handled the balloons.

Inflated balloons were from party city. We got a dozen pearlized balloons for about $13. And the "16" ballons were $10 each. Dan about had a fit when he saw the total for balloons.

We got the cake from Albertsons. After a long conversation with the Bakery manager, we figured out a less expensive cake that achieved the tiered look. We chose two round cakes, the size of what they make in their bakery. This lovely cake cost $60. If we had gone with the wedding cake equivalent, it would have been $160.  We also went with Butter cream frosting. The tops later was italian cream, and the bottom layer was vanilla cake.

If you look closely, you can see that it looks like the roses have glitter on them. I loved this very nice added touch.  You also have no idea how hard it is to do a Sweet Sixteen party in blue. Everything comes in pink. But I lucked out and found these lovely blue "1" and "6" candles at Walmart. I think they matched wonderfully.
